87, of Overbrook, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Eastern Star services will be conducted by East Gate Chapter #367 of Kansas City, Mo. She died August 1, 2006 at the Brookside Manor in Overbrook. She moved to Brookside Assisted Living, Overbrook in January 2001, and Brookside Manor in December of 2003. She was a long time Lawrence resident. She was born May 17, 1919, in Kansas City, Mo., to Marian R. and Mary Alice Ramsey. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Mo., in 1937. Mrs. Schroeder worked for Wilson's Meat Packing Company in Kansas City and Co-Op Elevator and Medical Arts Business Office in Lawrence, retiring in April 1976. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lawrence. She was a 50year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and held dual memberships with Adah Chapter #7 OES, Lawrence and East Gate Chapter #367 in Kansas City, Mo. She was Past Matron of Adah Chapter and Chapter secretary for many years. She served Kansas Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star as Grand Page 1960-1972, District Aide 1964, Grand Press Correspondent 1974, Grand Representative of Montana in Kansas 1982-1985. She married Carl W. Schroeder January 10, 1942. They moved to Lawrence in 1951. To this union, four children were born. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1997. Also preceding her in death was a son, Dennis Wesley in infancy, a daughter, Marsha Hughes, May 17, 1997, and her sister, Margaret Lineberry. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Roger) Nieder, Seal Beach, Calif., and Janice (Jerry) Krambeer of Decorah, IA, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 6- 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Warren McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. The family suggests memorials in her name to the Grand Chapter of Kansas OES, Estarl Fund, and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
